Sceneries and backgrounds tend to be a meditative time for me, and I usually like to take them slow. It's interesting for me to watch people going about their lives, doing things that are so ordinary yet undeniably human.
the backgrounds and designs of Metropolis are so facinating to me. The Zones, the buildings, the colors and movement and mess, they would be something I'd draw to let my mind wander. This is a scene from a fanfiction I'm writing called "semi-sweet". Kenichi takes Rock to the Metropolis anual Japanese-American street fair, and here they share a traditional ramen meal, rightly so for a cold day. I had fun hinting on the difference of cultures, Rock being so American with his beer, ash-tray, and completely abandoning the idea of chopsticks. Where as Kenichi goes all out with his green tea, his soy sauce, and his chopsticks. It's beautiful to see two people share in one's culture, and yet they look distraught and sad. Metropolis certainly isn't a happy place, and I tried my best to bring this out.
Absolutely no alterations were made on the computer.
Wow, I love the buildings in the background, Aji. I want to learn how to draw building, but the best I get on paper is blocks an rectangles X3. I also love the movement in the drawing and the background way in the back is a nice touch

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
